Is there a PM in Agile?
No, there is no PM in Agile. Like all purely Agile methods, the most popular Agile method (Scrum) does not have a project manager. That's because Agile methods were not designed to manage projects but to aid the development of products in an iterative way. The lack of a project manager is common across all Agile development methods which is why specific methods were introduced to bridge the gap between Agile development methods and project management methods. The first truly Agile project management method was DSDM which later became AgilePM. In addition, PRINCE2 Agile has taken the traditional PRINCE2 project management approach and made it applicable to Agile projects. That is why in most Agile literature there is no mention of a project manager because Agile methods themselves are only focused at the team level to develop products. They were never designed to by used at the project level.
