What is an Agile approach in project management?

An Agile approach in project management focuses on delivering project needs both iteratively and incrementally throughout a project's lifecycle. Agile development is a broad term covering various iterative methodologies in software development, with popular approaches including Scrum, Lean, DSDM, and eXtreme Programming (XP).
