What is the difference between APMP and PMP?
The difference between APMP and PMP® lies in the certification body and the materials upon which the certification is based. In the UK, APMP is now known as the APM Project Management Qualification (APM PMQ). It is based upon the APM Body of Knowledge (APM BoK). It is a qualification aimed at project managers with some experience, but there is no mandatory experience or prerequisites required to sit the exam. PMP® (Project Management Professional) is based upon the PMBOK® and is offered by the US-based Project Management Institute (PMI). To qualify to sit the exam, a candidate must have several years of project management experience. It is this requirement which makes the PMP a much harder qualification to get.
