Why this qualification?
With this qualification you will be able to work as an informed member of a project team. It is a prerequisite for taking the PRINCE2 Practitioner qualification which is recommended if you manage projects.
The Foundation course is also ideal if you are looking for a career change, as no previous project management experience is necessary.
The course is designed to give you a thorough understanding of PRINCE2; you will learn about the PRINCE2 approach to projects – its principles, themes, processes, and techniques – and you will be well prepared to pass the Foundation exam at the end of the training course.
Who is this for?
An online PRINCE2 Foundation course is your ideal starting point if you are working or plan to work on a PRINCE2 project team. Many of our delegates take the Foundation course with the aim of applying their PRINCE2 knowledge at work. They then go on to study the PRINCE2 Practitioner at a later date after gaining more experience of PRINCE2. There is no classroom tuition on this course, so it is ideal if you’re a busy professional looking to study at your own pace.
If your career goals differ from the ones listed below, please feel free to discuss your goals with our specialist advisors on 0207 148 5985. They can advise you on choosing a course which best suits your career.
I currently work on projects and want to learn new skills to bring back to work
As a delegate taking our course you will become equipped with the terminology and knowledge about how PRINCE2 works. You will immediately be able to go back to work and speak this new vocabulary and be able to act as an informed member of a project team.
Even if you do not regard yourself as a project manager in a formal sense but just find yourself more involved in projects at work you will benefit from this course.
I am unemployed and want the qualification to put on my CV
Even if you are an experienced project manager and perhaps have been made redundant or are in between contracts, you can benefit from a Foundation course. You might have found that not having PRINCE2 on your CV is hindering your job search. That’s where this course will help you.
Although taking a Foundation course doesn’t qualify you as a registered practitioner, having PRINCE2 Foundation on your CV will instantly increase your chances of employment. Alongside your previous project experience, it shows that you know the PRINCE2 terminology and are capable of working as an informed member of a PRINCE2 project team.
I want to change career and work in project management
You will find that PRINCE2 is widely recognised as an essential starting point when looking for many jobs, not just project management jobs.
Even if you want to make a complete career change you will find that many jobs require project management skills that are transferable. This is true even for project work at university. We have trained beginners who are from unrelated backgrounds such as consultancy, military, merchandising and even nursing who have then gone on to work in project management.
One thing to remember however, is that if you want to work in project management, gaining a full Practitioner qualification is recommended. PRINCE2 Practitioner is a higher level qualification and shows you can apply PRINCE2 to simple projects. In that respect, a more suitable course for you would be the PRINCE2 online Foundation & Practitioner course.
