Rail

Wolverton, Milton Keynes Central, and Bletchley stations are on the West Coast Main Line and are delivered by local passenger service between London and Birmingham or Crewe. Railway Station Central in Milton Keynes is also served by inter-city services between London and Scotland, Wales and the Northwest, and the West Midlands of England: express services to London take 35 minutes.

Road

The M1 motorway extends along the east edge of MK, including exits 11a, 13, 14, and 15. As a grade divided dual carriageway, the A5 road passes full through. Other major roads include the A509 to Wellingborough and Kettering, as well as the A421 and A422, which continue west to Buckingham and east to Bedford. Furthermore, the A4146 goes from (near) junction 14 of the M1 to Leighton Buzzard. The proximity to the M1 has led to the creation of several distribution centres, notably Magna Park on Milton-Keynes south-eastern border, near Wavendon.

Derek Yeadon of Milton Keynes Development Corporation designed and built the Milton Keynes Central Bus station 1982/83. On 4th of August 2014, the design and construction of the building was acknowledged by being Grade II listed by the Department for Culture, Media, and Sport on the advice of English Heritage.
