Air

East Midlands Airport is nearest Derby city centre. Because of its closeness to Derby, the airport’s location in Leicestershire, and the longstanding rivalry between the three cities (Derby, Leicester, and Nottingham), the airport’s choice to prefix its name with Nottingham in 2004 sparked controversy.
