Lean Six Sigma courses frequently asked questions (FAQs)
What is Lean Six Sigma?
Lean Six Sigma is a structured approach to improving processes. It combines Lean methods for reducing waste with Six Sigma tools for reducing variation and defects.
What is the difference between yellow, green and black belt?
Each belt represents a different level of knowledge and responsibility. Yellow belt gives an introduction, and green belt support and lead projects, and black belt leads larger programmes and coaches others across the organisation.
How do I choose the right Lean Six Sigma belt?
It depends on your experience and role. If you are new, yellow belt is usually the best place to start. If you already work on improvement projects, a higher belt may be more suitable.
Is Lean Six Sigma only for manufacturing organisations?
No. Lean Six Sigma is used across many sectors, including services, finance, healthcare, government and not-for-profit organisations.
Who are Lean Six Sigma courses suitable for?
Courses are suitable for people who want to improve how work gets done – from those starting in process improvement to managers and specialists leading major change.
Do I need any experience before taking a Lean Six Sigma course?
You do not need experience to start at yellow belt. Higher belts are usually best for people who already work on, or lead, improvement projects.
Are your Lean Six Sigma courses accredited?
Yes. Our Lean Six Sigma courses are accredited by APMG International.
How does the self-paced yellow belt course work?
You study online at your own pace using interactive modules, quizzes and examples. You then take the APMG yellow belt exam online when you are ready.
How does corporate / team training for Lean Six Sigma work?
We design a programme around your goals, people and timescales. Training can focus on one belt level or several and can include your own case studies or processes.
Can we run different belt levels for different people in the same organisation?
Yes. Many organisations start with yellow belt for a wider group and add higher belts for people leading improvement work.
How long does it take to complete each belt? Request a quote
The self-paced yellow belt course takes around 10 hours to complete. For team training, the length of each course depends on your requirements and the level of depth you need.[email protected]
