A project manager must be a leader. Once the objectives are relayed to the team, project planning comes next. A project manager should have the capacity and skill to create a plan that is in accordance to the goals and objectives. The ability to discern what part of the scope and definitions of project is important and what is not is a skill developed over time, experience and instinct. A project manager should also listen to the contribution of the team whose technical expertise is something that must always be considered.
Another fundamental skill is the organizational skill. The project manager should be able to organize all the cost, resources and equipments, people, schedule and processes. This undoubtedly would take a whole lot of work and concentration and the project manager should be well-organized to be able to document all of this.
