Which PRINCE2 course to choose?

If you’re looking to obtain certification in PRINCE2, you’ve come to the right place. There are two levels of PRINCE2 certification for you to choose from: Foundation and Practitioner. Choose Re-registration if you have already passed Practitioner and want to keep your professional certification up to date.

PRINCE2 Foundation - 2.5 days [click here]

This course is ideal if you're already working on or would like to begin working on PRINCE2 projects. PRINCE2 Foundation is the entry level PRINCE2 qualification and is usually achieved by taking a 2.5 day classroom course.

During this course, you gain an understanding of the PRINCE2 framework and its terminology. At the end of the course you take a 1 hour multiple choice exam containing 75 questions and must score a minimum of 35 correct answers to pass. The UK national average pass rate* for this examination is 97%.

After the PRINCE2 Foundation course, you can progress to the PRINCE2 Practitioner course if you want to further develop your project management career.

This course is also available as a 2 day weekend course.

PRINCE2 Foundation & Practitioner - 4.5 days [click here]

PRINCE2 Practitioner is the higher level PRINCE2 qualification. This course is ideal if you want to develop your project management career because it’s a qualification commonly demanded by many employers.

This classroom course combines both the Foundation and Practitioner courses. It’s the most popular way to study for the Practitioner certificate and in total lasts for 4.5 days and includes both examinations.

If you pass either or both of the exams, you will receive a certificate. If you pass the Practitioner exam you can call yourself a PRINCE2 Registered Practitioner for a period of 5 years.

This course is also available as a 4 day weekend course, which takes place over 2 consecutive weekends.

PRINCE2 Practitioner - 2 days [click here]

This course is ideal if you want to develop your project management career and already passed the PRINCE2 Foundation exam previously. Even if you took the Foundation exam many years ago you can still take this course.

This course is a 2 day classroom course and focuses on preparing you for taking the PRINCE2 Practitioner examination. At the end of the course you take the 2.5 hour multiple choice exam containing 80 questions and you must score a minimum of 44 correct answers to pass. The UK national average pass rate* for this examination is 73%.

A pre-requisite for taking the Practitioner examination is that you must have already passed the Foundation examination.

This course is also available as a 2 day weekend course.

PRINCE2 Re-registration - 2 days [click here]

If you passed your PRINCE2 Practitioner examination more than 3 years ago, this 2 day course is for you. This PRINCE2 Re-registration course shares the same syllabus as the PRINCE2 Practitioner course but the exam is shorter than the Practitioner exam – only 1 hour with 30 questions. You need to score 17 out of 30 correct answers to pass.

If you pass the exam, you are able to continue to call yourself a PRINCE2 Registered Practitioner for a further 5 years.

Our fully accredited online eLearning is included as part of this course.

This course is also available as a 2 day weekend course.

Note: If you previously studied PRINCE2 Foundation using the 2005 version of the manual, then our PRINCE2 Refresher & Practitioner course would be ideal to refresh your knowledge and help you achieve the Practitioner qualification.

Note: Since 2012 we have surpassed the UK national average pass rate by achieving pass rates of 99% and 83% for Foundation and Practitioner examinations.

"Knowledge Train were advocating a more targeted approach to pre-work. I wasn't disappointed. The course was logical, progressive and run by an extremely knowledgeable and professional trainer." Peter Eates, Programme Manager, Lloyds Register

"I would like to convey my sincere thanks to you for providing such an excellent and enjoyable course for both the PRINCE2 Foundation & Practitioner. The standard of tuition provided has been very impressive and I am delighted at having passed both exams. I can highly recommend Knowledge Train, having previously attended the Introduction to Project Management one day course earlier this June. Everything was organised in a highly professional manner, yet with a friendly atmosphere geared to getting each candidate through the exam. Thanks once again!" Jeff Preston, Senior Traffic Control Engineer, Transport for London

"People at Knowledge Train set realistic expectations, have very clear objectives for their courses, and work with you to achieve those objectives. You can feel that they are invested in creating a didactic atmosphere that is both relaxing and academically strong. Success in obtaining the certification is just a natural outcome. I would be saying the same even if I had not obtained my PRINCE2 certification" Mounir Ouanaimi, Director of Admissions, Northwestern University in Qatar

"I have taken week long training courses with other training providers in the past but Knowledge Train is exceptional. The one thing that I like about Knowledge Train is the ease and pace at which the PRINCE2 course was delivered. There was no requirement to read the manual from back to back as other course providers would ask you to do. The course delivery was smooth, easy to understand, enjoyable and hardly any pressure. The course tutor was remarkable and took time to ensure that everyone had a good understanding of PRINCE2 in every way possible. I would surely recommend Knowledge Train to my peers." Trish Adeoti, Project Manager, National Policing Improvement Agency

"The PRINCE2 training course was very intensive, but the trainer made it as fun as possible. He gave a lot of guidance in the right direction, the venue was suitably located and the immediate environment was comfortable and quite conducive to studying. Knowledge Train’s PRINCE2 training is excellent value for money. I am glad I decided to go with Knowledge Train." Fola Odujinrin, Asset Development Advisor, Thurrock Council

"I found the course well structured, and the trainer extremely well informed – there was a great balance between home learning and class room based examples that led to a successful passing of the exams. I would recommend this course to anyone who wishes to do PRINCE2 – and especially anyone who feels nervous about not having done any classroom based learning for a while." Jessica Weaver, Events Production Manager, Institution of Civil Engineers

"This is just a quick note to say many thanks for your efforts in putting together such a great course. The facilities were good and the pre-course materials were well designed and prepared me well for the course. The course content has given me a better understanding of project management and the skills will be put to good use almost immediately. The course instructor was really good! He structured the content well and took us through the manual and process in a very well organised way.
There is no doubt that you will see me again in the future for the "Practitioner" bit after I have put the new skills to use and have got some more experience!
Once again, many thanks to the entire team for making this course happen." Mark Hawkins, Techology Manager, Merlin

"The course was comprehensive and the instructor was excellent, helpful and always had the answers! I enjoyed the 5 days study. Thanks Knowledge Train for the pleasant environment. The first exam was easy (Foundation) but the Practitioner one is tough and it needs real preparation. The Practitioner exam is an open book but there is no time to look in the book. I recommend the students to answer the two sample exams at least 3 times to be ready. Best" Nasser Mubarak AL-Malki, Director of IT Department, PEIE

"The PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner course run by Knowledge Train over 1 week is very intense, however their delivery is professional, tightly run and leaves you with the confidence that you will pass first time. I would recommend to all potential students to have a read through the training material at least 2 weeks before the course start date, as going in cold can be extremely daunting. Having familiarised yourself with the main concepts prior to the course start, it will be much easier to fly through the exams!" Danielle Cobb, Business Analyst/Project Manager

"The course was well structured and the trainer was excellent. The learning environment in terms of the facilities were ideal, and we all really benefitted from the class sizes which meant personal contact with our teacher was maximised. I would recommend Knowledge Train wholeheartedly to anyone interested in PRINCE2." Christopher Wallbridge, Senior Experience Executive, MESH Planning
