Course details

This 4.5 day MSP Foundation & Practitioner course is designed to provide both a solid understanding of the Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) framework and also how to apply it as an informed member of a programme management team.

The course will ensure that you are well-prepared to pass both the MSP Foundation & Practitioner exams on the 3rd and final days of the course.

Knowledge Train is an MSP Accredited Training Organization meaning our course materials and trainers conform to the highest standards. Knowledge Train has been delivering project and programme management training since 2005 and has helped more than 8,000 people gain professional qualifications since then.

Why this qualification?

Gaining MSP Practitioner certification will boost your career opportunities by showing that you can apply the MSP principles and framework to a simple MSP-based programme.

The MSP Practitioner qualification is also a very good way to differentiate yourself in the jobs market. If you already have a project management qualification such as PRINCE2, then gaining MSP Practitioner is a great way to complement that on your CV/resume. It shows that you have a broader knowledge about how projects fit into programmes and it shows that you are able to manage such simple programmes.

Who is this for?

This course is ideal for programme support staff, project managers, change managers and experts working within a programme office who need to know how to apply MSP to their own programmes. It is also suited to people such as programme managers and senior responsible owners who want to take a higher level qualification, such as Practitioner or Advanced Practitioner.

If your career goals differ from the ones listed please feel free to discuss your goals with our specialist advisors on 0207 148 5985. They can advise you on choosing a course which best suits your career.

Icon1I currently work on programmes and want to learn new skills to bring back to work

This is the most common goal among our Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) Foundation and Practitioner students. You may not call yourself a programme manager in a formal sense, but if you’re becoming more involved in programmes at work then this MSP course is suitable for you. Not only will you get the MSP Practitioner certification, but you’ll also learn a best practise programme management approach which you can apply to your programmes at work.

I’m unemployed and want the qualification to put on my CV

If you’re an experienced project or programme manager and perhaps have been made redundant, or are in between contracts, this Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) training is suitable for you. Programme management is one step up from project management, and if you show you have the means to support or manage programmes using MSP you’ll have a great chance of landing a programme management role.

This course helps you gain MSP Practitioner certification and shows employers you have sufficient knowledge of MSP programme management to apply it as an informed member of a programme team.

I want to change career and work in programme management

You’ll find that Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) certification is really important when looking for any programme management role.

This training helps you get the MSP Foundation & Practitioner certification which shows employers you’re capable of applying MSP as an informed member of a programme team. Providing you have other transferable skills (for example gained from project management) your CV will be boosted if you can show MSP certification as well.

MSP Foundation & Practitioner certification therefore can certainly help you when applying for either programme management support roles or management roles.

I want to organize some programme management training for my colleagues

If your organization is undertaking programmes, your support staff would benefit from Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) Foundation training. More senior staff are best suited to MSP Practitioner training.

We are able to send experienced MSP trainers to help your staff learn to use MSP to realize strategic benefits for your organization. Call our helpful support staff to discuss your programme management training needs now on 0207 148 5985 or complete this form.

Great course in a great venue

I thought the course was great. MSP is constrained by its content, which has a dry and rigid academic style, but I knew that before I booked!  The course materials were good - maximum to Practitioner material is key. The trainer was good, with a relaxed and patient style of training. Overall, a great course in a great venue.

Exceptional training style

My MSP course was delivered by a well-experienced trainer. The course is directly linked to my nature of work and I found the trainer had an exceptional training style. The course materials and pre-course study were very good, although we could maybe have more past exam papers.

Jumoke is a great trainer

I thought the course was managed and taught very well. Jumoke is a great trainer. She is deeply knowledgeable about MSP and has a very open and relaxed teaching style. I found her friendly and approachable - she was always happy to answer questions. I do, however, feel the pre-course study was quite long and could have had more Foundation papers.

Very well presented

The course was very well presented with the tutor delivering real life examples, and he is obviously a subject matter expert. I would like to see more real life examples of the documents, not just what the document should contain.

Excellent trainer

Excellent trainer, very engaging and good discussions between delegates. Focused on delivering the course and understanding. Discussed applicability of the theory in real world. Venue although convenient but room not a great size.

A useful 'baseline' course

A useful 'baseline' course to ensure programme management and other stakeholders are all at the same level in terms of roles, responsibilities and processes.

"Great intructor! Got a good insight into agile methodology especially with regards to prioritisation of requirements. I would have liked to have seen more of the elements tailored towards enterprise and scaling methods from projects to larger programmes. Overall covers fundamentals well and these can be practically applied where relevant to a real life scenario with an ability to flex approach. "
