Your PRINCE2 exam checklist – Day of exam

At Knowledge Train we provide PRINCE2 training courses almost every week. Our trainers and invigilators work hard to ensure that students feel confident about sitting the PRINCE2 Foundation, Practitioner, and Practitioner Re-registration exams.

This is the second part of your essential PRINCE2 exam checklist, specially prepared by the team at Knowledge Train. Keep the following tips in mind to help ensure that you have everything you need to sit your PRINCE2 exam with us.

Proof of identity

Before your PRINCE2 exam begins, the invigilator will ask you to provide photographic ID. Acceptable forms of photo ID include a passport, driving licence, or work ID. Without proof of identity, it is not possible to take the exam. During in-house training courses, each person’s identity may be verified by his/her manager. Special arrangements are made for individuals whose religious beliefs require them to veil their face in public.

Candidate details form

You will be given the opportunity to complete the Exam Candidate Application and Details Form, supplied by the APM Group (the organisation that produces and certifies PRINCE2 exams). On the form you should provide contact details (particularly important for when the exam certificate is posted) and decide whether or not you would like your name to appear on the APM Group’s PRINCE2 Successful Candidate Register.

Candidate number

The APM Group issues each person sitting a PRINCE2 exam with a unique candidate number. If you take the Foundation and Practitioner exams during the same week, your candidate number will normally be the same for both. You must not write your name on the exam paper, but instead write your candidate number in the spaces indicated. Often only one digit distinguishes your candidate number from someone else’s, so it is particularly important to transcribe it clearly and accurately.

Pencil, sharpener, and eraser

PRINCE2 exam answer sheets must be completed in pencil or they may be rejected. If you rub out an answer, you should make sure that your pencil marks have been completely erased. Answer sheets are marked by machine; incompletely erased answers may disrupt the process.

Turn off your mobile!

Mobile phones, pagers, and any other electronic devices must be switched off for the duration of the exam. Bags and other belongings should also be stored out of reach.

Look out for the other parts of your PRINCE2 exam checklist: helpful advice about exam arrangements, as well as what to remember during the exam.
